A new style of Rioja
A new style of Rioja
A boutique winery and an inspiring setting
A wine like this could only have started life in a boutique winery. Torre de Oña rises up between the vineyards, surrounded by cypress trees, with a manor house alongside it and the Cantabrian Mountains as its natural backdrop.
An inspiring setting for yoga, reading, walking among the vineyards, listening to music, wine-tasting or after-dinner conversations that stretch into the small hours.
Finca Martelo Harvests
A Finca Martelo Harvest is a fresh harvest, with mild tannins and a long, unhurried and balanced maturation. If the harvest does not meet these requirements, Finca Martelo is not produced.
A blend that strikes just the right balance
Its grapes are selected from vineyards that are over 60 years old; Tempranillo is the Finca Martelo’s main variety, which is complemented by Mazuelo, Grenache and even Viura grapes.
Care and patience
20 years. That’s how long it has taken to painstakingly study, inch by inch, detail by detail, the five estates on which the grapes used in Finca Martelo grow.
The Ageing Process
That the wine is primarily (80%) American oak-aged develops sweetness and softness without too many tannins, and provides delicate, complex nuances.
The Flavour
An intense garnet colour with a clean, glossy and medium-dark robe. A nose with fruity notes, dominated by blackberries and fruits of the forest, with balsamic nuances in the background. In short, Finca Martelo is pure sensory pleasure.
